Reverse Osmosis to Lower Calcium Hardness
If you own a residential or commercial swimming pool in the Southwest U.S., hard water is a problem you will be guaranteed of having. Calcium, magnesium, and other hardness minerals are extremely high in tap water and as water evaporates in your swimming pool, the hardness minerals remain in solution. When it comes to swimming pools, the industry states that you should have an average of 200 – 400 parts per million (ppm) Calcium Hardness in your swimming pool but depending on where you live, tap water can be 400+ ppm and higher. This is a serious problem because it can cause severe damage to your swimming pool and draining a swimming pool should be the last thing that should cross your mind. Instead of draining, we recommend recycling your swimming pool water using our Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration trailer. Our “Puripool” Process is mobile and can lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), and other hardness minerals in your swimming pool without draining. In fact, we can conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool.
Just this past week, we scheduled a pool to be recycled because they wanted to keep. their calcium levels low. The calcium was measured at 580 ppm. With our unique filtration system you can not only lower calcium levels in your pool but if you use the service every two years you can prevent long-term damage to your swimming pool as well because it can prevent heavy scaling to the tile, interior finish, and your filtration equipment.
Initial Chemistry of Above Swimming Pool
Calcium Hardness – 580 ppm
CYA – 0
Total Dissolved Solids – 3877 ppm
After filtering this 20,000-gallon swimming pool with our RO system we were able to conserve approximately 85% of the water and left them with the following chemistry which is better than tap water.
Calcium Hardness – 130 ppm
CYA – 0 ppm
Total Dissolved Solids – 766 ppm
Owning a swimming pool in areas where Calcium Hardness levels are high can make it more challenging to maintain but with our mobile filtration system, it can make your job much easier, not to mention, conserving nature’s most precious resource… WATER!
