As fall and cooler temperatures approach there is a big shift in the swimming pool industry. There is a huge increase in the number of people that think about draining their swimming pools due to hard water. When outside temperatures drop below 80 degrees it’s safer to drain a swimming pool because of the chances of cracking the foundation due to heat lower. In the Southwest where our tap water is loaded with calcium, magnesium, and other hardness minerals, it’s recommended to change out your water every two years to prevent calcium scaling on the tile, interior finish, filtration equipment, and decorative water features. Since we have reached this time frame we want to suggest an alternative the takes all the risks out of changing your water.
