How often should I Puripool my pool water? When should I do your filtration again? When is the best time to have you come back? How often can this service be performed? Well, you guessed it, these are some of the most popular questions asked when we come out to recycle swimming pool water! To be honest it isn’t always the easiest question to answer because there are so many factors that go into this answer but we want to tackle the timeframe question on a variety of circumstances to give you an idea of how often you should change out the water in your swimming pool.

Negative edge pools should be filtered more often due to scaling

First and foremost, why do people contact us? The biggest reason why our phones ring is because residential and commercial swimming pool owners are having issues with the following:

      • High calcium hardness
      • High Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
      • High Cyanuric Acid (CYA)
      • High salts
      • Presence of waterborne diseases
      • Salt chlorinator malfunction

When any of the above occurs, most pool professionals will recommend a water change. When this times comes, choosing to use The Puripool Process is your best decision because not only can we conserve the existing water in the swimming pool but we can also give you the best quality of water too for your swimming pool. Our mobile filtration trailer comes to your house or commercial pool and recycles the water onsite. Since we use Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration we are able to lower calcium hardness, TDS, CYA, salt, phosphates, waterborne diseases and so much more to levels far below what you would get with tap water. What you are left with is drinking quality water that is crystal clear and much more fun to swim in. You can feel a difference in the water and also see it too! After the process is complete most customers will ask us, “when should I have you come back?”

The simple answer to this question is every two years but that isn’t always the case for everyone rather this is an average! We’ve found that two years is the time frame where calcium hardness levels start spiking, scaling occurs and you will notice a difference in the feel of the water. If you have a saltwater chlorinator you might need us out sooner than two years because most saltwater chlorinators can’t handle high calcium hardness levels and when the calcium is too high they will shut down. For those that have decorative water features, this might be another reason why you might need us out sooner than every two years. To be honest, we have some customers that want us every six months, every year, every two years and every three years. As you can see there isn’t one answer that works for everyone but if you want to keep your swimming pool looking great and feeling great too we highly recommend having your pool water filtered every two years at a minimum. Trust us when we say, you will know when it is time to filter your water again because you will notice a change in your swim experience.  If you should have any questions in regards to your swimming pool, contact us today!
