Now that we are in the month of April, spring is in the air, the temperatures are warming up and the smell of BBQ around the swimming pool is just around the corner. Yes, swimming pool season is upon us again and what better way to get your swimming pool ready than having your swimming pool water recycled to remove calcium hardness, total dissolved solids, CYA and other harsh contaminants. The benefits of this process are numerous, it can be done in less than a day and conserves 85% of the water in the pool. This is big right now because California is officially in a drought and water conservation is at an all-time high. In our existence, we have conserved well over 11 million gallons of water and this number will continue to rise as more and more restrictions are put on draining and refilling a pool not to mention we’ve expanded into Dallas and are headed to Lake Havasu City, AZ. too.
The process is relatively simple as we designed a mobile filtration system that runs on its own power and can remove the hardness minerals in less than a day for most residential pools. You can watch how the “PuriPool Process” is done in this short video.
Most of our customers contact us because it’s harder to take care of the chemistry in the pool, they notice a white ring of calcium on the tile or decorative features, or they were told to drain their swimming pool. Typically a drain a refill can take anywhere up to 2-3 days and in the end, you just fill up the pool with moderately hard water again. By using our process it can be done in a day, there is no need to expose the surface of the swimming pool and the water that goes back into the pool is drinkable.
A couple of weeks ago we got a call from a potential customer with calcium levels reaching 1,000 parts per million. This is much higher than the recommended 200-400 parts per million. After we discussed how the process works he said, “it was a no brainer.”
Initial Chemistry:
Calcium – 940 ppm
Total Dissolved Solids – 4992 ppm
After running the swimming pool water through our reverse osmosis trailer for 20 hours we brought the swimming pool water chemistry down to the following numbers:
Calcium – 160 ppm
Total Dissolved Solids – 512 ppm
After bringing a sample of the pool water back into the pool store, he was told his water was perfect and the best part is, he didn’t even need to lift a finger.
